About this calculator

Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana (SSY) is a government-backed savings scheme for a girl child, offering EEE tax benefits like PPF. Deposits run for 15 financial years from account opening and the account matures after 21 years (or on marriage after age 18).

Interest compounds yearly and is notified quarterly — 8.2% since January 2024. Only one account per girl child (max two girls per family, with an exception for twins/triplets) with deposits between ₹250 and ₹1.5 lakh per year.

Formula

FV₁₅ = D × (((1+r)^15 − 1) ÷ r) × (1+r); Maturity = FV₁₅ × (1+r)^6 (deposits at year-start).
